RxGen Appoints Steve Gullans to Chairman and Matthew Lawrence to President and CSO
Hamden, CT April 2, 2008 — RxGen Inc. announces the promotion of Matthew Lawrence, Ph.D., M.D, to the position of President and Chief Scientific Officer. Dr. Lawrence will replace Steve Gullans, who had previously held the position of President and CEO and who will now assume the responsibilities of Chairman of the Board. Dr. Lawrence, a co-founder of the company, is being promoted from the position of Director of Research, where he played an instrumental role in launching RxGen’s contract research services and establishing the company’s GLP capabilities while acting as principal investigator on multiple SBIR grants and coordinating scientific collaborations. Prior to joining RxGen, Dr. Lawrence completed his clinical training in ophthalmology at Harvard and neuroscience training at Stanford and contributed to multiple research studies with other RxGen founders.

To address the company’s expanding commercial research activities, RxGen also announces the promotion of Christopher Stanley to the position of Chief Business Officer, where he will assume a broadened responsibility for corporate development and finance, including strategic partnerships, licensing, and financing activities, and Dr. James Coon to the position of Vice President of Business Development, where he will be responsible for managing and growing contract research service and extending company visibility and client outreach. Dr. Robin Goody additionally joins the team as Senior Research Scientist and Michael Struharik as Quality Assurance Officer.
